Custom work is at the heart of what Ceremonia offers.  I consider it a great honor to be tasked with creating objects of symbolic importance to my clients.  If you are interested in having something made, don’t hesitate to get in touch regarding the details, even if you think you are not ready to have the work created yet.  I am always interested in discussing ideas and getting to know those who are interested in my work.

Here is a general outline of the process:

Contact me via email or Instagram to discuss details.  I can also be reached by phone, if that is preferable to you, at 510-685-9427.  Leave a message as I’m often not able to pick up due to the type of work I do.

It is fine to start with a general sketch and hash out the details in discussion.  If you already have a clear image in mind of what you would like, that is great too.  Please understand that not everything will be possible, and that there may need to be adjustments made so that the piece works both technically and aesthetically.  The goal is that through discussion we will come to a design which satisfies and hopefully exceeds your expectations for the work you are looking for.

Sketches are very helpful!  Even if you feel you have no “artistic ability,” any little drawing is good as a reference point.  Inspirational material is also useful.  If you have images of something close to what you would like, please present that as something to work from.

Essential details that you will want to consider in having any piece made are these: What size would you like?  What material is appropriate?  Currently, work is available in steel, bronze, brass and copper.  Not all materials work with every process but do consider what you would like and let me know.  I can also incorporate other materials such as wood, bone and horn as appropriate for the work.

Quotes: Once I understand the level of detail, the material and the size of the work, I will give you a price for the piece which reflects the time and materials involved in making it.  Once I give you a quote, that is what the final price will be unless you decide to change details after the initial price is given.  That may result in a change of price, but it may not.  It all depends of whether it adds to the amount of work to be done.

My work style has a wide range.  I can do very high finish, detailed, elaborate work, or I can create quick pieces.  If your budget is on the lower side, but you wish for something unique, please just communicate to me and I can generally work with you.  On the other end, if you are wanting something very detailed and perfectly crafted, and you willing to pay for the time to create such a thing, please communicate that as well.  I generally design work somewhere in between.   Knowing your budget and expectations helps a great deal in planning.

For custom work, I take payment before I begin work.  In the case of works over $500, I take half of the payment up front, and half upon completion, but before mailing.

All prices are in addition to shipping.  I often know what the shipping will be ahead of time, but sometimes it will need to be calculated once the piece is made and weighed.    Please consider this if you are ordering something heavy or are very far away.

There are no refunds on custom work.  However, if for some reason you are not happy with the piece, get in touch.  I appreciate feedback and it may be possible to make changes

Regarding privacy:  Ceremonia is an online business, and as such, most of what I make is shown online.  However, if for any reason you wish your pieces to be kept hidden from the public, please let me know ahead of time and your request will be respected.

Special procedures:  At times by customers request that I quench their work in certain oil, create them on specific days or during certain astrological correspondences, say prayers, or anoint the work in various ways upon completion.  I take these requests very seriously and honor them whole heartedly.  Please just let me know if there is an act you would like me to perform during or after the creation of the piece.  If it is within my wheelhouse and I have the materials needed to do it, I am more than happy to comply.
